Treacle Cottage is an old farmhouse built in around 1760 offering cosy and comfortable accommodation for your perfect Lake District holiday. It has been tastefully renovated retaining its thick stone walls, exposed beams and original features, whilst providing everything that will make your stay a pleasure.
Situated on the original 'Old Lake Road’, half way between Ambleside village and the lake, Treacle Cottage is just a short stroll from all the amenities of the village and the Ferry Terminal at Waterhead. There are excellent walks nearby and, just through the garden gate is the footpath that leads to Jenkins Crag and onto Wansfell and Troutbeck.
With 5 spacious bedrooms, the property provides accommodation suitable for up to 9 people. There is a choice of three roomy ensuite bedrooms, an airy twin room with basin and a cosy single room, overlooking the garden. In addition, there is large family bathroom with a freestanding roll-top bath and separate shower, along with a ground floor shower room.
There are two cosy sitting rooms, one with a wood-burning stove, a separate dining room with seating for 10, a fully equipped kitchen fitted in 2016, with a Stoves Range Cooker, fridge/freezer and dishwasher and a utility/boot room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
With plenty of spacious accommodation, Four Flat Screen TVs with Freeview, DVD and Free WIFI, a Terraced Country Garden with far-reaching fell views, along with Private Parking for up to 4 cars, and a garage which is ideal for secure storage of bikes and kayaks.
